Eight Months Without a State Assembly: Putting People First or Saving a Political Seat?
Honestly, there is no reasonable excuse for indefinitely suspending the State Legislative Assembly (DUN). The COVID-19 pandemic is long over; that excuse simply doesn't hold water anymore. If you look at the timeline from April 2026, it is hard to avoid the suspicion that political survival was prioritised over the interests of the people of Negeri Sembilan: 21 April 2026: The Undang Yang Empat (The Four Chiefs) publicly declared Aminuddin unfit to serve as Menteri Besar. 23 April 2026: The DUN session was abruptly suspended. 27 April 2026: 14 BN assemblymen withdrew their support for the Menteri Besar. When you connect the dots, it looks rather convenient. The Assembly is supposed to be the place where majorities are tested and government accountability is upheld.
